Another new piece that i have just finished this morning. Back to pink for this one, nice and bright with lots of hand drawn elements. The Cuckoo.... sneaky and sly and v v shy of maternal responsibility, they watch smaller birds, noting their daily habits and routines, typically warblers, and they wait and wait, then when the time is right, they invade the smaller birds' nest, lay their egg in it leave, landing the surrogate bird with a baby that isnt theirs. The fledgling cuckoo then grows rapidly, overtaking the warbler chick in size and determination, commanding the food brought back by the mother, then often nudging the baby warbler out of the nest completely, falling to their end. I wonder if the bird world will ever get wise to the ways of the cuckoo and decide enough is enough and rise up!!! RISE UP RISE UP THE WARBLERS OF THIS EARTH!!!

Hi Sarah-Jayne,
ReplyDeleteSorry has taken me so long to reply to your comment!!! rubbish i know haha.
Thanks so much for your fab comments about my work, really means alot. Its great to get feedback of all kinds, but especially cool when its positive and complementary!!
Had a worthwhile exhibition last month, and now looking to find some galleries etc to either take on my work, or just to have a show at, local to me in whitstable, but also up in london. Used to live in East London, so know the area just gonna contact some places. I am just in the process of setting up an Etsy shop too. My partner and i have a Picture Framing shop up in Maidstone, and am selling quite a few pieces through that, so my work seems to be getting popular which is great. I could do with more exposure. Any tips? What about you, which direction is your work going in? Are you represented by an agency?
